FEDORA's Activities

On 7 December 2024, at the Maison France-Amériques in Paris, the Berkeley Global Society, an international organisation dedicated to unlocking intelligence and human capital, organized its annual gathering around The Future of the Fashion Industry: Entering a New Era of Challenges & Opportunities.

The conversation touched on a range of topics, from sustainability and intellectual property to the intersection of fashion and technology, highlighting how the industry is navigating a rapidly changing world while embracing new opportunities.

On this occasion, our Director, Edilia Gänz, had the opportunity to participate as a speaker in the dynamic and insightful discussion about the future of the fashion industry to share new sustainable and digital approaches in costume design that FEDORA has supported in the performing arts world, through projects such as Sustainable Costumes, XR Stage, and Opera on Brainwaves.

Thanks to the insightful dialogues and thoughtful questions raised during the panel, the discussion was enriched, underscoring the importance of collaboration as we move toward a more innovative and responsible fashion industry.

Sustainable Costumes - Recipient of the Next Stage Grants 2022

Led by Oper Leipzig and Icelandic Opera, this project sets new standards to the performing arts industry to make the costume creation process more sustainable, by introducing new models for material circularity between productions, institutions, and opera houses, as well as more sustainable procurement and logistics practices.
